Collaboration for Community Empowerment: Glin National College and CEEDS in Clondalkin

Since 2018, Glin National College has maintained a meaningful partnership with CEEDS in Clondalkin, a collaboration to deliver high-quality training to the community under CEEDS’s care.

About CEEDS

Founded in 1993, CEEDS is a non-profit organisation originating in response to the then-rising issue of unemployment in North Clondalkin’s communities. They have steadfastly supported the community throughout the three decades, collaborating with local organisations aiding jobseekers, single-parent families, and socially disadvantaged groups. Their impactful services have benefited thousands of individuals. The CEEDS Community Employment Project is one of Ireland’s longest-running and most successful and has consistently progressed participants into employment and further educational pursuits.

The Synergy in Partnership

Glin National College takes pride in its collaborative efforts with CEEDS, offering various Further Adult Education courses. Quality and Qualifications Ireland (Q.Q.I.) fully accredited many of these courses, precisely tailored to address current training and employment needs. Additionally, CEEDS provides various Computer Training Courses catering to varying skill levels, including Word Processing, Computers for Beginners, Internet skills training, and more.

Training Offerings with the Partnership

The courses, available through both classroom and online modalities, cover a spectrum of work skill topics:

  • Special Needs Assisting (S.N.A.)
  • Training and Development (Train the Trainer)
  • Care Skills and Care for the Older Person
  • Palliative Care Support and Care Support
  • First Aid Responder (P.H.E.C.C.)

Community Outreach Beyond Borders

Beyond local initiatives, CEEDS has demonstrated its commitment to global welfare by generously donating over 50 computers and substantial equipment to a Global I.T. charity donation program. These resources now benefit a school in Ethiopia, contributing essential technical infrastructure to an underprivileged region.

A Shared Vision of Impact

The partnership between Glin National College and CEEDS is not merely a collaboration; it’s a testament to success and a crucial step in fulfilling a shared mission. Both organisations ensure that high-quality training is accessible to anyone seeking to enhance their skills and make meaningful contributions to their community.
